The Sims is a strategy and simulation game, first game of this category in which each alive entity has its own personality and is controlled individually and directly. The Sims 2 is the second version released by Maxis. The game develops in an environment completely done in 3D. Compared with the first version of The Sims, now the characters grow and have an age. Days of the week exist, what gives more reality to the game, because the children do not go to school on the weekends. A standard of measure for aspirations was added, and desires and fears of each character get importance. Each adult Sim possesses a specific aspiration, selected among Romance, Family, Fortune, Popularity and Knowledge. Small children have an only aspiration: Growing. In this second version of the game, The Sims grow, and go from an age to another; and they die once past their maximum age. The concept of DNA gets into play, since children take after their parents and relatives. Children grow and turn into adults who can have their own children, so it is possible to obtain generations and generations of a family. Different expansions to this version have been launched to increase game's playability.
